Come out courage,
fuel nervous mind.
Come out hope,
help tired soul stand.
Come out joy,
pick body out of bed.
Come out faith,
paint dull world red.
Come out love,
slice heart open and bare.
Come out muse,
spill words mouth can’t say.

In response to dVerse‘s Opening to the Muse–dVerse Quadrille #16 by Ms. Victoria C. Slotto who also wrote her own piece here.
This morning, I spent some time reflecting on how important it is to be open to whatever comes our way. We have our goals, our bucket lists—hopefully. But life doesn’t always cooperate, loves to tease us with a curve ball now and again. From that little reflection, the word OPEN has been playing in my mind and so I’m choosing it for this week’s Quadrille.
This reads like a prayer to be able to cope, and change… we need it all in our lives… hopefully words can help.

Wonderful, tight poem that reads as a prayer. But you didn’t use the prompt word of “open”. 😦

Thank you, Toni! I think I used the word in my tenth line: “slice heart open and bare.”

Inspirational…especially “Come out muse, spill words mouth can’t say.” Boy can I relate! I have 3 book reviews that don’t want to be written, and another 3 books in the wings to be read. *Feeling lazy* 😀

This reads likably and profoundly. It’s inspiring. This would make a wonderful choral reading at an arts gathering. Evocative crafting, sister!

Powerful invitations that, as Bjorn mentioned, read like a prayer. This would not be a bad way to start each day. Thank you.
