I write because I read. I read because I write.
This is my blog’s tagline because that’s me, A Reading Writer.
In fact, this blog was born because of my love of writing and reading.
So when I don’t write, I read.
You may notice that aside from my daily Writing 101 posts, I also have regular book-related articles.
I have created my weekly Monday Musings where I feature one book quote per week. I also participate in Top Ten Tuesdays. My PopSugar 2015 Reading Challenge is always up-to-date, too!
So instead of focusing this post to me being a bibliophile, let me introduce you to my musicoholic-self.
Yes, I read because I write and vice versa BUT I have music in-betweens, too! 😀
I mentioned in my About that I almost named my blog, A Reading Writer who sings. 😀 It’s because I do sing, too.
But aside from that, music is really a big part of me, as a reader, as a writer and as a person.
I listen to music when I read, I also listen to it when I write. 🙂
Jason Mraz and Sara Bareilles are my top picks. (One of my earliest post is about my Jason Mraz experience when he had a concert here in the Philippines, last year. It’s titled ‘First Time’.)
I don’t usually share my playlist because I feel ‘naked’ when I do. That’s how attached I am in my music picks.
But because I am opening up my musicophile side to your guys, here are some of my favorite tracks that I usually listen to when I need some inspiration. 🙂
In response to Blogging University’s WRITING 101 Day 11 Assignment:
Day 11: Writing and not writing
As much as we love to write, it’s important to take breaks — to live your life and have new experiences, and to reflect and recharge so you can come back to your desk, ready to hit the keyboard again. Not writing allows you to gain the distance from your words, and thus perspective, which are both needed when it’s time to edit.
What do you do when you read?
Do we share the same love for books and music?
I am so eager to know.
🙂
NOTE TO MY AWESOME READERS:
I am open to any kind of written collaboration/feature. 🙂

I do like reading and listening to music too, as a way of winding down (other than writing) 🙂

Wow, we’re a lot alike. I listen to music while I’m doing anything, especially writing. It’s a calming effect.

One must live to write. Some must write to live.
