I still remember: the gentle rush of the calm yet humming cerulean ocean as it hugs the waiting sun-bathed sand and silent shells ashore; the sweet whisper of the whistling wind as it combs the golden grass strands who always beg for more; and then the loud yet soothing klee-ew sounds of the winged gulls flying freely above the expansive salted-water-made floor.
Our beating hearts sung
softly with that summer choir.
Do you remember?

Just beautiful!!! We leave in a month for two weeks at our beloved Provincetown — the very tip of Cape Cod. We stay at a place where our deck is literally on the water at high tide. This makes me taste the salt in the sea side air and I am yearning to be there again! 🙂

hmmmm my first comment did not post here? Will try again and hope it doesn’t duplicate.
This is lovely. I can taste the salt in the seaside air and hear the gulls above. Makes me yearn for our beloved Provincetown, at the very tip end of Cape Cod. We will be there two weeks in September, right on the water and now, reading your post, my heart is already there! 🙂

When I was a child, I went to choir camp in the summer. Now that I’m grown, I think I’d really enjoy going to the oceanside to listen to your summer choir. I like your phrase “silent shells.” It’s a creative way to think of shells; and it affirms that silence can be part a choir, too. Sister, you compose a refined romantic remembrance here!

Memories softly singing, romance found in little things, awakenkened stirrings, reminiscing. Beautiful Rose, petals abloom, her song of love so attuned, it speaks to the rhythms of the moon.
