Catoptromancy: A Cinquino*
You showed
a future filled of finished dreams,
where all I want’s now mine—
but why am I
alone?

Cinquino is a gimmicky invented verse form that reverses the syllable count of the Crapsey Cinquain. It was found in a book on poetry for teachers and was created by a 20th century American educatorJames Neille Northe.
The Cinquino is:
- a poem in 5 lines.
- syllabic, 2-8-6-4-2 syllables per line.
- unrhymed

The title sent me scurrying to the dictionary. Or the Internet equivalent. Promises of or to a mirror about a “future filled.” But the mirror’s not companionship, which would be a filled-future indeed. (Starting in the present, I suppose.)
Hope your week might be off to a happy start, sister!

I have been wondering that for years. If you ever find an answer I’d love to know! Great poem that asks such probing questions.

I am afraid I am not sure what’s the answer. 🙂 Or maybe.. she’s too goal-oriented that she left what matters the most just to get to where she wanted to be. 🙂

That’s me in a nutshell but I have hope there is someone out there who will not ask me to sacrifice what I want to be with him.

I believe there is. ❤ I believe. 🙂 ❤ Because if a man ask you to do that, he don't deserve you.
