“Words make you think. Music makes you feel. A song makes you feel a thought.”
― E.Y. Harburg
To my greatest delight, Laduchessederat‘s topic for The Great Book of Lists for this week is… MUSIC! ❤
And you all know that aside from quotes and books, I am surely obsessed with songs, too! 😀
What music is so intertwined with your life and personality that you can play it in your head without actually hearing it ? What musical pieces remind you of a particular time in your life like it was yesterday ?
So let the musical throwback begins… ❤ ❤ ❤
Infant Song
Sa Ugoy ng Duyan by Lea Salonga
The song Nanay (mother) used to sing for me. ❤
Childhood Song
I sang this during my Kindergarten diploma and it is still stuck on me! 😀
High School Song
Cats and Mouse by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
This was a huge hit during that time! 😀
First-Love Song
‘He’ asked me to sing it to him, and with the aid of a song-hits, I did. (Those were the days! :D)
College Song
A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton
Yeps. A videoke-must!
Present Love-Life Song
If You’re Not The One – Daniel Bedingfield
Our theme song, it is. ❤
Personal Life Song
Even When It Hurts by Hillsong United
Even when my strength is lost
I’ll praise You
Even when I have no song
I’ll praise You
Even when it’s hard to find the words
Louder then I’ll sing Your praise

Awwee that Leah Salonga song! ❤ Great song choices with sentimental value, Rosema. It's my first time listening to Busy Days. So cuteee. I love that song by Hillsong, too. 😀 😀 😀

Nanay loved to sing, until now, though songs do not love her back. 😂😂😂

What does good to know means. Does it mean you are going to do a rendition and post it. Sweet. Thank you. That is really nice of you

Awesome, though I have never heard of any of these songs. My playlist is far too long to type 🙂

Haha. It is okay. We live on opposite sides of the world. No wonder our playlist isn’t the same. 😀

From high school and college, anything by Chicago or Linda Ronstadt. When I was a child, we had a record (one of those flat round things that are being sold again) of folklore songs. We played those songs so much, I could sing them to you now. Frankly, because they were authentic, I guess, the songs were kind of mean and gruesome. The two I remember best are “There was an Old Woman all Skin and Bones” (a scary song) and “Whoever Shall Have Some Good Peanuts and Giveth His Neighbor None” (a song of revenge). Your song list is so much healthier. Thanks!

Oooohhh! Those songs (judging from their titles) are indeed scary! But still they remained in your memory. 🙂

I love Red Jumpsuit Apparatus! 😀 My soundtrack would be an unholy mashup of soundtracks & classical music for writing and heavy metal/rock music for all else (and audio books of course!) 🙂
