Monday Morning Melts #7

Rosema: After being MIA for the past week, I am back with dear Jade for Monday Morning Melts! 🙂 After the Christmas festivities, let me treat you with yet again another sweet sweet song. 🙂

I have written a fiction titled “Quite Like You” based on this song. When you read its lyrics, and when you hear it playing and being sang, you cannot help but hope that someone will sing this song for you someday. ❤

So much with dreamy words, here it is, friends!

PROMPT: The Script – Never Seen Anything “Quite Like You”

When it’s right it’s more than right
Cause you feel it more than feel
I could take this moment now
Right into the grave with me

Your Turn:

  1. Share a poem, story, or photo inspired by this week’s song-lyrics-prompt. You can share something you created that was inspired directly by the lyrics or you can share other pieces that coincidentally fit the prompt (for ex: an old piece of yours, or one of a beloved blogger – with permission).
  2. Linkback/create a pingback to this post. Here is a quick tutorial on how to do it.
  3. Tag your post with MondayMorningMelts, so we and  your co-bloggers will be able to read/see your take on the prompt. Here’s how you create tags.
  4. Most important of all, read and comment to your blogger friends (old and new found, we’ll never know). 😉

There are no word limits and no restrictions except to stay true to the theme. Creating a brand new post in response to the prompt is also optional.

The goal isn’t to create new content, but rather to share pieces that melt the heart, tickle the soul, and brighten up a typically gloomy Monday. That’s why if you already have a piece that fits this week’s lyrics, or if you have a fellow blogger whose piece you want to share (with their permission), you are more than welcome to do so!

Rosema: Most of the time, love is expressed and felt through physical intimacy. Touch. Kisses. Hugs. But how about loving someone from afar? How about loving someone you haven’t seen yet? How about falling for someone’s soul residing in a body thousand miles away from you? Will it be a gamble worth committing? Will it feel like a heart’s solitary suicide?

This week, let’s delve the idea of long distance love. (Which is now for me, the purest love of all). ❤

“One Sweet Love” – Sara Bareilles

The earth that is the space between,
I’d banish it from under me to get to you.
Your unexpected love provides my solitary suicide
oh I wish I knew

Sorry, Storm

My clear window pane is tainted with gem-like trickles of rain. The sky is angry. So black. So dark. Its sharp and fast lightning brings along growling screams of thunder. These are the moments I hate the most.

With rain comes my demon named depression. The feeling that even the mighty one loathes my existence and He is expressing his hate upon me via a brutal weather.

But today, as I watch the glaring storm with your arms wrapped around me, I feel as warm as summer, as blossoming as happy spring.

Sorry, storm, your desperate efforts of gloom will forever be futile, as long as he loves me.

Hungry Pine (Inspired by Hunger Of The Pine by alt-J)

Like a luscious December pine hungry for the cool kiss of the winter’s frost
I wait patiently for a warm heart-home where I can forever be lost.

Jade: Nobody melts my love-loving heart quite like the Backstreet Boys. I suppose growing up in the era of 90s boy bands, that was inevitable. This week, I’d like to share with you all a classic, in the hopes that the sweet vocals and sweeter lyrics of my favorite boy band will melt your heart as well.

As Long As You Love Me – Backstreet Boys

Although loneliness has always been a friend of mine
I’m leavin’ my life in your hands
People say I’m crazy and that I am blind
Risking it all in a glance

Kinetic Energy

Kinetic Energy (Inspired by For the First Time by The Script)

Tickling kinetic energy courses through me.
My sense of touch fires up with glee.
Like a light bulb turned on for the first time,
I shivered and sparked when you called me mine.

Quintessential

Quintessential (Inspired by Up In Flames by Ruelle)

Don’t let world’s black smoke of grief
make your inner light dull.
Your soul’s brightness is not ephemeral.
My iridescent love, you are quintessential.

Wreaked Havoc (Inspired by Buses and Trains by Bachelor Girl)

They say love is like walking under a rushing bus
or getting hit by a rapid moving train.
No wonder I was wreaked havoc, after him.

Favorite Memory

Favorite Memory (Inspired by You Are A Memory by Message To Bears)

You are just a memory.
Well, my favorite one.
But I am clearly, oh so done.
I won’t let your betrayal define who I am.
Not anymore. Not anymore.

Meeting in Between

Meeting in Between (Inspired by Free Fallin’ by John Mayer)

Yin yang. Opposing poles.
Your heart is whole, mine is filled with holes.
Yet we meet in between
after we both tried free fallin’.
