Note: This is the short story sequel of my top post Seasons. Please do read the first part, first. 🙂
Chilling shivers crawled in my veins when I saw my bloody self inside the wrecked car.
“So what am I now? Am I a soul now? Am I dead? Am I alive?”
I shouted but no voice left me.
The ambulance arrives. Several medical staffs try to retrieve my blood-soaked body.
This is nauseating but I urged myself to think.
I collected myself and prepared to run to get inside the ambulance.
But I stopped.
…as I felt a warm yet slightly cold hand touched my arms.
I am unsure if my heart is still alive but it surely beats fast when my skin recognized this hand.
This hand belongs to the man I was supposed to marry five years ago.
This hand belongs to the man I cried and yelled at when he was not able to see me on that fateful day of October.
I waited on our corner… but he did not come, because… he died.
But this hand… is definitely….
“No, no, no, no.”
“This is couldn’t be. This couldn’t be.”
But my senses say otherwise.
This is how his touch feels like.
And this is how he makes me feel.
I slowly turned around.
I froze.
I cannot look up.
But I did.
My heart stopped.
Because…
This hand…
is indeed…
his.

Very beautiful, Rosema. I hadn’t read the other post before, so I checked it out too. Both the pieces are wonderful, but I like the first a tiny bit more. Nonetheless, I am glad that you could write this amid your busy schedule. I am also about to start my job soon, and wonder whether I will be able to give as much time on the blog.
Oh, and I was a little busy over the weekend, so didn’t get around to write the 3rd (and final) part of Not Today then. I uploaded it today, so whenever you get the time, do check it out!

Hi Appy! Thank you!
I kinda like the first one too. This one’s done in a rush that’s why this is not as good as the first. 😀
But, thank you still! It is really quite hard to blog when job’s getting busy! 😀
I will check that out now! 😀

Really?! This was done in a rush so I am so sorry it’s not as good as the first one. 🙂 Do you want me to continue? 😀 Do you have any suggestion or questions? 😀
Thanks a lot! 😀

Actually, if you have the time, I would like to know what will happen next (part 3) 😀 The story flows, so I don’t think there is a need for comparison. 🙂

Aww. That’s just so sweet! 🙂
Thank you… and I think I now a bit pressured on how to continue this! 😀
Thanks, again!

Take your time. Write part 3 only if you have the time 🙂
PS: While reading, I could actually “see” the entire story in my mind unfolds as if I’m watching a drama. So it’s really good! It would make a good drama script! 😉

Now you are really making my heart burst! Thank you so much!
That’s really my goal. To make my story so vivid that it feels like you’re watching it instead of reading it. 🙂 And I am really really flattered now because of what you said!

I think both parts of the story are beautiful. I love this kind of writing that is slightly chilling, and suspenseful. The second part might use a bit of tightening up, that is polishing, but I enjoyed it as it is. This is writing that grips the heart and the feelings from it remain even after it is finished. The image of the park bench is perfect. The only sequel I would do might be the two lovers (ghosts or just separate souls) reunited and sitting on the bench. Excellent, excellent story.
