WRITING 101: Coffee and Cake, anyone?

You can’t buy happiness but you can buy coffee, and that’s pretty close.

———–

If we we’re having a coffee right nowI would tell you that last night, I had a blog related-dream. I cannot recall all the details. What I remember is that I am reading a post from someone that says Nicholas Sparks is one of the authors that you should not read. Ever.

It feels weird. Because I am a Nicholas Sparks fan, my dream ends when I was about to bash the writer of that post. 😀 (Oh, by the way, Nicholas Sparks’ new book, See Me will be out on October 13. If you’re a fan, then you better pre-order now.)

See Me

Going back to my dream, it’s a bit weird right?

Is this a sign that blogging/writing is really getting into my nerves?

Is this a clear sign that I am getting a bit more addicted to WordPress?

And, is it good or bad?

Moving on, let’s continue our date. If we are having a coffee right now, I would tell you how I am getting a bit unproductive at our office this past two weeks. If you would ask me why, I would say the answer is obvious.

It’s because out of my 8-hour working schedule, I spend more than six hours here in the blogosphere. (I really hope that my boss will never ever read this!)

Again, I’ll ask. Am I really getting ‘addicted’ to Writing 101? Is this bad?

I guess, I’ll have to stop asking now. Why? Because I am having fun.

So let’s just sip our warm cup of coffee. I like it bitter. 🙂

And let’s order a slice of cheesecake, too because that’s my perfect pair for coffee.

In response to Blogging University’s WRITING 101 Day 10 Assignment:

Day 10: Update your readers over a cup of coffee

No matter what type of blog you have, it’s sometimes necessary to post updates: from project news to personal messages about what’s going on in your life. One creative approach to an update post is a “virtual coffee date,” as seen on Kate Goes Global, which is like catching up with an old friend over a cup of coffee.

What would you like to tell me today?

Do you like your coffee sweet or bitter?

Let’s talk.

  2. oh, I love this assignment! It felt JUST like I was chatting with you! When I was at work, I never had a chance to access WP either- not to write; I would only get my site’s URL to ppl to read! I was constantly on my feet and interacting with everyone; way to go for using time at work to blog! Well, in a way, I guess I too am using my time at my current workplace (writer/home) to blog…I am planning on telling my background story and then throwing in some of my more meaningful blog posts- keep your fingers crossed that this actually happens!!

  3. This is a lovely post! You know this one time when I had the fever at the start of W101, I lay in my bed and kept dreaming the top right icon on my WP site becoming orange as more and more notifications came! 😀 So trust me, what you’re feeling is perfectly normal and HEALTHY!

    Enjoy that cuppa coffee 😀

  4. Let’s hope your boss doesn’t read it hmm 🙂 A cup and a cake any day. Now, I do look at peoples reviews about a book, but I never form my opinion based on someone’s one. What works for you might not work for me, so, I would stick to what makes me happy to read. Thank you. I think a lot of us are slightly addicted to WordPress and need detox sessions 😉

  5. I love a latte of filtered coffee with cream! I love cheesecake as well, but am watching my weight so just a little piece for me thanks.
I would enjoy our little chat, and tell you that I too am rather addicted to blogging and am loving the Writing 101 course too! I think it has a lot to do with the lovely people I have met.
Hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

  6. Love this post! Strange as it is, I’ve never read any of Nicholas Sparks books. I may pick this one up. Oh and my coffee? I like it a little dark with unsweetened almond milk and natural sweeteners like truvia or organic unrefined coconut sugar. Yum!! 🙂

  7. If you’re dreaming about it, the blogosphere *probably* has a bit of a hook in you, but it’s definitely not a bad thing! Cheesecake and coffee sounds divine. Never tried it. Hope you’re having a great week and an even better weekend.
