rope. there is
no
rope nor a glass
platform
nor a hand or
thin twig
to
hold me up.
my feet dang-
ling
in this period
of forced
pause.
static seconds
delay
even the wings
of a
soaring
eagle.
someone press
the play
button
please.

The format worked so well with the theme of this poem and the moments of static were palpable. Very nice!

Thank you for seeing that, Mish. Tried to capture that static-feel and you confirmed it was a triumph. Thank you again!

The first thing that struck me was how the short lines reflect that feeling of stasis – as Mish says, the format works so well.

that was the goal. thank you for confirming that it was successful!

You captured the strange sense of a pause in the middle of a free-fall. Almost like a dream, or life flashing before your eyes.

I am thinking limbo, just existing going nowhere… the form makes it work even better… hope there is play to come.

Wonderful writing…and I so get you about the ‘forced pauses’ in life, how frustrating it is to let go and trust God’s Powerful Love and Sovereignty. We know HE is Able, but we want Him to hurry up and fix things! Often I need to remind myself to be Grateful…to Worship Him instead on “murmuring” (loudly).💙

Oh this comment came at the right time. You described it perfectly, sister. “We know HE is Able, but we want Him to hurry up and fix things!”
I’ve read somewhere that as we wait for Him to open the door, let’s worship in the hallway. Praise loudly it is.
