“Not all those who wander are lost.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Laduchessederat‘s The Great Book of Lists for this week is indeed a great way to start my February!
Why not kick this new month by sharing a piece of our dreams : travels we’d love to do, places we’d like to go to, we’ve been dreaming of, even writing them down in our bucket list bust never found the time for. They make us dream, engage our imagination or cast a new light on our neighborhood.
I don’t want to speak more, let the photos do the talking! ❤
Hop on and let me introduce you to some of the places that I have written in my not-so-finished bucket list! 😀
1. Amalfi Coast, Italy (I want to eat the big strawberries and lemons here! :D)
“It is is a stretch of coastline on the southern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula in the Province of Salerno in Southern Italy. The Amalfi Coast is a popular tourist destination for the region and Italy as a whole, attracting thousands of tourists annually.[1] In 1997, the Amalfi Coast was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape.[2]
2. Vaadho Island, Maldives (The Sea of Stars is TDF! :D)
“Vaadhoo island is famous for the ‘sea of stars.’ This marine bioluminescence is generated by phytoplankton known as dinoflagellates. Woodland Hastings of Harvard University has for the first time identified a special channel in the dinoflagellate cell membrane that responds to electrical signals—offering a potential mechanism for how the algae create their unique illumination.”
3. Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, Mexico (Butterflies are fascinating, what’s more if there are millions of them together! 😀 )
The Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve is a World Heritage Site containing most of the over-wintering sites of the eastern population of the monarch butterfly. The reserve is located in the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt pine-oak forests ecoregion on the border of Michoacán and State of Mexico, 100 km (62 miles), northwest of Mexico City. Millions of butterflies arrive in the reserve annually. Butterflies only inhabit a fraction of the 56,000 hectares of the reserve from October–March. The biosphere’s mission is to protect the butterfly species and its habitat.
4. Ueno Park, Tokyo (To walk under a roof of Cherry Blossoms is just a lovely dream! 😀 )
Ueno Park (上野公園 Ueno Kōen?) is a spacious public park in the Ueno district of Taitō, Tokyo, Japan. The park was established in 1873 on lands formerly belonging to the temple of Kan’ei-ji. Amongst the country’s first public parks, it was founded following the western example as part of the borrowing and assimilation of international practices that characterizes the early Meiji period. The home of a number of major museums, Ueno Park is also celebrated in spring for its cherry blossoms and hanami.
5. Keukenhof Garden, Lisse, The Netherlands (Oh, I love tulips… so much! :D)
Keukenhof (“Kitchen garden”, Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkøːkə(n)ˌɦɔf]), also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world’s largest flower gardens. It is situated in Lisse, the Netherlands. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).
6. Kawachi Fuji Gardens, Kitakyushu, Japan (Magical, right? So magical! :D)
Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu, Japan ( 5 hours from Tokyo, if you take the Nozomi high speed train) is where you will find this pastel-colored fairytale tunnel. The gardens are home to about 150 Wisteria flowering plants spanning 20 different species (white, blue, purple, violet-blue and pink). This is the reason why the Wisteria tunnel is so colorful and graceful.
7. Jason Mraz’ Avocado Farm, Bonsall, California (Yes, I have to watch him live there! :D)
This private property produces 30,000 pounds of the fruit a year, which go to a local Chipotle—except for the two to four avocados the vegan Grammy winner eats daily.
8. Namiseom Island, Korea (The set of my favorite all-time Koreanovela, Endless Love Winter Sonata.)

More than anywhere else I think I’d like to go to Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, South Africa.

Though I love elephants and want to ride and take care of them and love on them for a week or two in some asian country, oh yeah, and ride them into the river! That’d be super cool. Those are my top two picks.

I had to FB this (I understand it’s cool to render Facebook as FB and sometimes a verb). I want my friends to experience this testimony. Thank you, again!

When we went there, we pampered ourselves, i.e. didn’t go budget etc. So yeah, not so cheap but it was so worth it. 🙂 I think if you do your homework and go for budget package it is doable 🙂
