walking bones and flesh
talking nerves
cartilages
machinery – dark inside –
yet summer warm
with heart as sun
i wonder those with
long long guns
as they fire
bang
see blood and brain
splattered
who is the god
who honors
what their masked lips
prayed?

Such truth this poem speaks.

Ah! This is good! There is no God, only Man’s twisted psyche. And it seems that there aren’t enough untwisted psyches to do anything about it.

R.W.,
Your words pack a punch. The images of “talking nerves,” “masked lips,” “blood and brain,” overwhelm the final mocking indictment. It’s after all no “god” but themselves and others of their ilk they serve.

I love it, if there was a god who listened to such prayers, we live in hell.
