The Wedding

PHOTO PROMPT © Marie Gail Stratford

Memories rushes back as I slowly walk down the aisle. A hotel singer falling in love with the hotel pianist sounds fairytail-ish but ours is more than that.

When we met, he already has an engraved golden band on his finger while a shimmering diamond-embellished ring is on mine.

I quit my job to stop myself from loving him. I can never be a mistress. But our lives and our hearts, perhaps, are meant to be entangled.

Almost six years after I fall in love with a pianist, I am now walking down the aisle looking through his teary waiting eyes.

Friday Fictioneers is a weekly writing challenge hosted by the generous Fairy Blog-Mother Rochelle Wisoff-Fields, where a photo is used as a prompt for a piece of fiction.

The Hottest Guitarist

Memories came rushing as I slowly unpin the burning guitar poster that has been in my room since I was twelve.

I can hear her playful chuckle, I can see her bright eyes, I can smell her innocent sweet scent, when I unrolled her first ‘monthsary’ gift for me.

“Cause you are the hottest guitarist,” she whispered softly in my ears.

She was my first love. My first hold hands. My first kiss. Almost my first…

I promised myself I will never take this poster down. But after sixteen years, I have no choice.

Tomorrow this will be relocated in a new bedroom that I’ll be sharing with her, forever.
