Monday Morning Melts #7

mmm-3

Rosema: After being MIA for the past week, I am back with dear Jade for Monday Morning Melts! 🙂 After the Christmas festivities, let me treat you with yet again another sweet sweet song. 🙂

I have written a fiction titled “Quite Like You” based on this song. When you read its lyrics, and when you hear it playing and being sang, you cannot help but hope that someone will sing this song for you someday. ❤

So much with dreamy words, here it is, friends!

PROMPT: The Script – Never Seen Anything “Quite Like You”

When it’s right it’s more than right
Cause you feel it more than feel
I could take this moment now
Right into the grave with me

Your Turn:

  1. Share a poem, story, or photo inspired by this week’s song-lyrics-prompt. You can share something you created that was inspired directly by the lyrics or you can share other pieces that coincidentally fit the prompt (for ex: an old piece of yours, or one of a beloved blogger – with permission).
  2. Linkback/create a pingback to this post. Here is a quick tutorial on how to do it.
  3. Tag your post with MondayMorningMelts, so we and  your co-bloggers will be able to read/see your take on the prompt. Here’s how you create tags.
  4. Most important of all, read and comment to your blogger friends (old and new found, we’ll never know). 😉

There are no word limits and no restrictions except to stay true to the theme. Creating a brand new post in response to the prompt is also optional.

The goal isn’t to create new content, but rather to share pieces that melt the heart, tickle the soul, and brighten up a typically gloomy Monday. That’s why if you already have a piece that fits this week’s lyrics, or if you have a fellow blogger whose piece you want to share (with their permission), you are more than welcome to do so!

Monday Morning Melts #4

Jade: Nobody melts my love-loving heart quite like the Backstreet Boys. I suppose growing up in the era of 90s boy bands, that was inevitable. This week, I’d like to share with you all a classic, in the hopes that the sweet vocals and sweeter lyrics of my favorite boy band will melt your heart as well.

As Long As You Love Me – Backstreet Boys

Although loneliness has always been a friend of mine
I’m leavin’ my life in your hands
People say I’m crazy and that I am blind
Risking it all in a glance

Your Turn:

BOOK READS: A Soundtrack for THE MAGIC STRINGS OF FRANKIE PRESTO by Mitch Albom

From: http://mitchalbom.com/d/frankie-presto

I was reviewing my emails yesterday when I read an exclusive letter from Mitch Albom. (I’m a Shelved subscribers guys, so if you’re a fan you can sign-up here: http://mitchalbom.com/d/shelved.)

According to him, Republic Records will release a soundtrack on November 6th for his upcoming novel, The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto!

The album’s titled, The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto: A Musical Companion. Yay!

Isn’t it great?

Here’s an article about this awesome news published in Mitch Albom’s website:

REPUBLIC RECORDS ANNOUNCES THE MAGIC STRINGS OF FRANKIE PRESTO: A MUSICAL COMPANION OUT NOVEMBER 6, 2015
New York, NY (September 16, 2015) – Republic Records will release The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto: A Musical Companion for the latest novel by the internationally renowned and #1 New York Times bestselling author Mitch Albom on Friday, November 6th.

Albom’s new book The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto, his most ambitious ever, is set in the world of music and follows the mythical Frankie Presto, the greatest guitarist to ever walk the earth. Pre-order for the soundtrack will go live on Friday, October 9th. With the purchase of a pre-order, fans can get a sneak peek into The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto, with the first 2 chapters read by Mitch Albom himself.

The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto will be available through Harper on Tuesday November 10, 2015.

The musical soundtrack features original songs by current recording artists including Ingrid Michaelson, Mat Kearney, Sawyer Fredericks and Phredley Brown that trace to the book’s story and were co-written with Albom—a longtime musician himself. In addition, the tracklisting boasts a number of previously released fan favorites that feature prominently in the novel. Mitch Albom collaborated directly with the artists to create a captivating companion piece to his prose. Further entwining the album and the book, Michaelson is even one of the narrative’s characters.

With each new book, Albom, the author of six straight #1 New York Times bestsellers, takes readers deeper into the universal experience we call life. He infuses both his non-fiction and fiction with an understanding of what makes us human. The Magic Strings of Frankie Prestois the book that Albom has been waiting his whole career to write: a paean to his first love—music—wrapped in the kind of inventive, compelling story that marks all his work. In his most original narrative yet, the voice of “Music” actually narrates the book.

With ‘guest appearances’ from such real-life musicians as Tony Bennett, Wynton Marsalis Lyle Lovett, Paul Stanley, Roger McGuinn, Burt Bacharach and Michaelson – all of whom collaborated with Albom – The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto is a Forest-Gump like journey through 20th century music and a heartrending tale about human connections. As lyrical and finely-tuned as its protagonist’s strings, this is a masterful work from “a writer with soul” (Los Angeles Times).

Stay tuned for more info about this one-of-a-kind musical and literary collaboration.
