in three lines (short poems): out now

Close to seven months now, the pandemic situation has kept me inside a cream-colored, four-cornered room inside the belly of a city with tongues not of my own. Alone.

The first months caught me off guard, I got no printed books to keep me company. Hence I took to subscribing to virtual ones like @scribd .

This gave me an idea to create an ebook with short poems, providing a quick read for hearts looking for comfort, such as mine.

With the help and support of the husband, @shubhodeeproy , I am happy to share with you my third poetry collection, “In Three Lines”.

Unlike the first two, this one is exclusively available as an ebook via the following links:

before you

But you arrived
with the blushing
sunset, you clothed
me with shared bravery.

As we heal, hand
in hand with the
balm of every tomorrow’s
morning dew,

let me tell you,
I didn’t know
this heart, this heart
could carry this
much love

before you.

wish come true

You are asking why
I haven’t been writing
lately about love,
well, it’s because

you do not utter
a wish every night
once you can already
hold it with your

bare hands. So why
I haven’t been
writing about love
it’s because I
already have

Book Alert! Curse Breaker: Enchanted by Melinda Kucsera

Heads up epic fantasy fans (and even those who are not like me)! Here’s an enchanting, thrilling and exciting new book/series that will introduce you to a new world called Shayari and to mystic, gifted and complex characters from one of the best fantasy writers! Read on!

SARN indentured himself four years ago to pay for his brother’s education. It was a desperate bid to help his brother escape the cycle of poverty. For him there was never any hope, not while his body brims with illegal magic that just so happens to fuel the perpetual glow of his green eyes.

THE BARGAIN…The terms of his indenture landed him a stint with the Rangers who patrol the enchanted forest until a party of travelers is attacked in the forest’s midst and killed. Everything changes when that first drop of blood is spilled, waking the forest’s ire.

THE MYSTERY… Sarn tries to stay out of sight and trouble but one of the Rangers has plans for him. And the ghost of a child murdered in the forest haunts him—a green-eyed child just like his own son. Who killed this boy and the party he traveled with and why? The answer might cost his sanity but to find it, he risks losing the son he’s kept a secret for four years. Not finding the answer might damn his son to share that murdered boy’s fate.

As conflicting plans collide beneath enchanted boughs, one thing is certain. If Sarn can’t get his magic under control, he’ll never find the answers that he seeks. But how far is he willing to go to find those answers? The search might cost more than his sanity; it might cost his life.

To my beloved author,

It was Tuesdays with Morrie, that made me an avid fan, I didn’t know that you will write a story about Frankie. So yes, I am not excited to know #frankiepresto.

It was August 2014 when I read The First Phone Call from Heaven, so no, I’m not excited for #frankiepresto.

It was more than a year when I last read your words, Mitch. But no, I’m not excited for #frankiepresto.

It was July 2015 when I learned that a new book is coming, but still, I’m not excited for #frankiepresto.

I went twice in National Bookstore to ask for a pre-order, but that doesn’t mean I was excited to read #frankiepresto.

Just yesterday, I hurriedly went straight to the bookstore after office. Still, that doesn’t mean I’m excited for #frankiepresto.

A wide smile painted itself, as I see a lot of The Magic Strings copies displayed on book stand. Nope, that doesn’t mean I’m excited for #frankiepresto.

Finally, I have #frankiepresto. I am not excited for your new story, Mitch.

Because ‘excited’ is actually an understatement.

I am Rosema from the Philippines. And #IamPresto.

Photo’s mine.

Day 8: Reinvent the Letter Format

Some might say a post in the form of a letter is trite and overdone. But with the right approach and tone, a letter can tell a great story and get your message across (and it doesn’t have to be negative or bring shame upon another).

I was reviewing my emails yesterday when I read an exclusive letter from Mitch Albom. (I’m a Shelved subscribers guys, so if you’re a fan you can sign-up here:

According to him, Republic Records will release a soundtrack on November 6th for his upcoming novel, The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto!

The album’s titled, The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto: A Musical Companion. Yay!

Isn’t it great?

Here’s an article about this awesome news published in Mitch Albom’s website:

New York, NY (September 16, 2015) – Republic Records will release The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto: A Musical Companion for the latest novel by the internationally renowned and #1 New York Times bestselling author Mitch Albom on Friday, November 6th.

Albom’s new book The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto, his most ambitious ever, is set in the world of music and follows the mythical Frankie Presto, the greatest guitarist to ever walk the earth. Pre-order for the soundtrack will go live on Friday, October 9th. With the purchase of a pre-order, fans can get a sneak peek into The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto, with the first 2 chapters read by Mitch Albom himself.

The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto will be available through Harper on Tuesday November 10, 2015.

The musical soundtrack features original songs by current recording artists including Ingrid Michaelson, Mat Kearney, Sawyer Fredericks and Phredley Brown that trace to the book’s story and were co-written with Albom—a longtime musician himself. In addition, the tracklisting boasts a number of previously released fan favorites that feature prominently in the novel. Mitch Albom collaborated directly with the artists to create a captivating companion piece to his prose. Further entwining the album and the book, Michaelson is even one of the narrative’s characters.

With each new book, Albom, the author of six straight #1 New York Times bestsellers, takes readers deeper into the universal experience we call life. He infuses both his non-fiction and fiction with an understanding of what makes us human. The Magic Strings of Frankie Prestois the book that Albom has been waiting his whole career to write: a paean to his first love—music—wrapped in the kind of inventive, compelling story that marks all his work. In his most original narrative yet, the voice of “Music” actually narrates the book.

With ‘guest appearances’ from such real-life musicians as Tony Bennett, Wynton Marsalis Lyle Lovett, Paul Stanley, Roger McGuinn, Burt Bacharach and Michaelson – all of whom collaborated with Albom – The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto is a Forest-Gump like journey through 20th century music and a heartrending tale about human connections. As lyrical and finely-tuned as its protagonist’s strings, this is a masterful work from “a writer with soul” (Los Angeles Times).

Stay tuned for more info about this one-of-a-kind musical and literary collaboration.

Mitch Albom is a bestselling author, screenwriter, playwright and nationally syndicated columnist. The author of six consecutive number one New York Times bestsellers—including Tuesdays with Morrie, the best-selling memoir of all time—his books have collectively sold more than 35 million copies in forty-two languages. He has founded seven charities in Detroit, and operates an orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He lives with his wife, Janine, in Michigan.

Hey, Mitch Albom fans!

Are you as excited as me?
