Today we’re going to play with humor and couplets and the form I’m presenting is called a Clerihew. A Clerihew is a comic verse on biographical topics consisting of two couplets and a specific rhyming scheme of aabb that was invented by Edmund Clerihew Bentley (1875-1956) at the age of 16.

So here’s the topic today:

DAY 26. – Book that makes you laugh out loud. 

I am not really a fan of funny books but after checking my goodreads, I found three awesome books that really made me laugh! 😀

Here are my answers!

Stupid is Forever by Miriam Defensor Santiago 

Stupid is Forever

First things first, who is Miriam Defensor Santiago? According to her Twitter account, she is a Philippine senator, one, if not only, of the most intelligent actually. She is also a Laureate of the Magsaysay Award for government service and she “Eats death threats for breakfast.”

According to the latest news, she is the most followed and liked senator in Twitter and Facebook? Why? Because her tweets and updates are both humorous and moving.

Her book, a certified best-seller here in the Philippines, is a compilation of her inspirational talks and speeches as well as her witty yet hard-hitting one-liner jokes and pick-up lines.

It is short yet sweet read and it is a book that is clearly scribbled by one of the most witty yet wise woman ever.

The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1)

The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1)  is a short feel-good funny novel about Don Tillman, a genetics enthusiasts who we’re able to find love in unexpected way. The humor and the scientific element of the book is just so engrossing and entertaining at the same time.

Who could ever create a love story with an almost ‘abnormal’ leading man? Don Tillman is brave enough to go beyond the typical handsome and perfect lover boy. His bravery has created a witty, sometimes annoying, but definitely loveable character.

“But I’m not good at understanding what other people want.’
‘Tell me something I don’t know,’ said Rosie for no obvious reason.
I quickly searched my mind for an interesting fact.
‘Ahhh…The testicles of drone bees and wasp spiders explode during sex.”

There are a lot more of this in this book! 😀

Three Weeks With My Brother

In this novel, Nicholas and his brother Michael ‘Micah’ Sparks told their memorable trip together as well as their shared family and brotherhood tales.

There are chapters that is really amusing, especially during Micah and Nicholas’s childhood. Their brotherhood tales are just so funny and so relatable!
