too shy to take
its forehead up,
for now.

from an asleep seed
to a pale stem,
leaves-armed,
waiting.

For dVerse Poetics: Take a risk!
Inspired by the germinating chilli plants I have in my balcony. It is delightful to watch them rise up, risks and all, from a tight curl to a proud stand as they grow. A reminder to start humbly, at least that’s how it means to me.
