Let me bloom

in between your
lucky cracks.

allow me to take
root, be anchored so
deep no soap&water

can slip me out of
your touch. watch as i
unfold—leaf by leaf.

before my petals
fall, a notice: you are
allowed to taste

my fruits, too.

  1. I shared this poem with My Beloved Sandra as she washed he hands after finishing upgrading her windowboxes. Wonderful coincidence. We both enjoyed it very much. Thanks.

  2. I can’t help but love your poems, areadingwriter. In this one especially: horoscoped-hands lucky cracks, and the sentiment of being anchored so deep that no soap and water can wash you off.
