April air reeks
of unperfumed killer
floating with spring,
bobbing as
daffodils sing,
there goes selfish
whims ransacking
shelves of kindness,
in a bid to survive
hunger for toilet
paper arrived,
common sense of
supposed “high-
er beings” flushed,
hummingbirds, sparrows,
laugh at us.

For dVerse Quadrille #102 – Don’t Forget To…
Waah waah. Amazing amazing piece. Firstly, the image is so apt. And then the lines! Tremendous. Daffodils are really singing. Hummingbird and sparrows are really laughing at us. May be they are surprised too, thinking, “where did these humans go? Is everything all right? Hello?” 🙂
And then the epic line comes “common sense of supposed “high-er beings” flushed,”. Too good.
Congratulations on writing this my poetess 🙂

The last two lines had me laughing as well. We are rather pathetic in our impotence right now aren’t we.

True dearie. We were supposed to be the ‘better’ species, capable of ‘advancing’ and creating ‘organized’ societies. Yet, here we are. Sigh

These lines, sister, express the current situation so well (so sadly):
. . . selfish
whims ransacking
shelves of kindness,
. . .
It would make sense to share. I think many of the hoarded stockpiles are going to go to waste.

i cannot agree more, brother. so much of wastage because we do no know how to share. sigh. i hope you are safe in your corner of the world, brother.

Too much greed in our rush to be safe… if we are just allowed to watch forests all will be fine.

Yes, “sigh” is right–it’s a bit wearying now. But–it’s a time for us to press in to the Lord; He has a bounty of things to share with us, increasing our wisdom, burnishing our character–it will all be good, because He is our Good Good Father ❤ Love you muchly, little Sister of my heart ❤
