orange veil

imgpsh_fullsize.jpeg

Steps. More steps.

Pointed heels tap, tapping,
Hard soles clank, clanking,
against the tiled, abused floor.

The invading final rays
of the setting sun
again entered unwelcome,
between the squared gaps
of the rusting wired fence.

The outside world’s noise,
helped him in keeping me silent.
Even the orange veil connived
in hiding me beneath his body’s blanket.

Office hours again reached its end.
So as my fading breath.

Stab. More stabs.

  1. I had to read this three times to fully absorb the intenseness of this piece, my dear. The words kept lingering in my mind even to this morning. Sometimes, they haunted me, and other times, they made me ponder on the dark side of the human race. Your talent has no bounds and I have solely believed that you have the power to change the world with your sword, the pen. Btw, thank you for giving life to yet another photograph of mine

    1. Hehe. Apologies for being a bit vague. 😀 For some reasons, the darkness of the room disturbed by sunset’s bleeding veil felt haunting to me. Morbid. Dark. Hence this story flowed like that. Your photos have never failed to muse my mind, Shubhodeep. So thank you! 🙂

  2. Oh my goodness, oh my goodness–you write like no one else, dearest Rosey! Sometimes I look at your little young and so sweet face, and wonder, “how can all this power of emotion, strength of words fit inside her beautiful heart and mind?” God bless you bountifully, my sister! ❤
