the gentle whispers of the trees’ breeze. the tender murmur of river’s flow. the playful tweets of the little birds. these sweet sensual delights are the reasons why we used to visit this river. the river we called ours.
today i clutch unto you, unto your vessel. your vessel made of cold porcelain, a stark contrast to how warm your hands were when you held mine.
slowly opening the lid, feeling what was left of your mortality, i let the salty tears wet my face as i let your ashes be one with the river. the river we called ours.

Note: I wrote this piece with Ed Sheeran’s Supermarket Flowers playing in my ears. Sigh.
Oh, I’m in pieces, it’s tearing me up, but I know
A heart that’s broke is a heart that’s been loved
Magnificent, Rosey!!

Even though this is sad Rosema, it has a great spirituality about it. The cycle of life with nature and the Universe.

Loved how you contrasted – like you said, the cold of the porcelain, against the person’s warmth. And to some extent, I think, how gentle nature and the memories were against the fact that the person had left.

Oh dearieee… a haunting scenery. There’s so much weight in this story from loss and letting go. ❤️ But as they say, there are things that even death cannot take. Love.. 😊

A good place to leave a loved ones ashes I think. It’s beautiful and mesmerizing. A place she’ll remember. Not to be morbid, but I know when it’s my time I want cremation and a place such as this picture would be a lovely place for whatever’s left to reside. Great write Rosema, heart wrenching 🙂

Haha maybe it still is. When great grandparents and grandparents, and an uncle passed away it always disturbed how the little kids went to poke the corpse and keep touching it. I know it’s how they know Grandpa or whoever is dead but it freaks me out. No kids will be poking my corpse or my Mothers lol. She hates it too.

oh geez. they poke them (now that’s gore. hehe)

Haha I know, my Dad’s side of the family usually did open casket funerals and I just think they are creepy. A body is a body and I think what makes it creepy is you know the soul, the life or liveliness in a person doesn’t exist, so they aren’t even there. So I’ve never understood this open casket thing, even for my one Grandpa who I was extremely close with.
Cheers, here’s to better thoughts 😊🦋

er. here’s a secret. i haven’t looked at any dead body ever. ever. ever.
cheers!

Oh I’m glad for you it’s eerie and not the last memory you want of a loved one! Even if they are dick when you last see them, they are alive. That lifelessness in families like my Grandma’s where they do this is creepy.
Have a great week Rosema and hopefully we find happier topics in the future lol 💕🙏🏻
