Stairs to Moving Forward

tears be
the balm
of the badly
bruised, beating
heart.
faith be
the calm
of the noisy,
full of fear
mind.
hope be
the song
of the silenced,
hunched, inner
hole.
Him be
the strong
of the weak
surrendering,
soul.

In response to Napowrimo Day 1 and Day 2.

I’d like to challenge you to write a Kay-Ryan-esque poem: short, tight lines, rhymes interwoven throughout, maybe an animal or two, and, if you can manage to stuff it in, a sharp little philosophical conclusion.
Today, I’d like you to write a poem inspired by, or in the form of, a recipe! It can be a recipe for something real, like your grandmother’s lemon chiffon cake, or for something imaginary, like a love potion or a spell.

  2. Can’t help but notice that you’ve managed to arrange your poems in a series of stairs. Intentional or no? 😀 Regardless – on some days, we can dream big. On other days, it’s just trying to make your way up the stairwell to something more beautiful. But no matter what, I’m sure you’ll succeed!

      1. Just remember that I, too, have gone off the Path more times than I can count–but the Shepherd, Our Lord, is faithful to come get us and carry us back to His throne room, Every Time ❤
