Dew of Dawn

Inside my hollow chest
lies a heart void of love–
a desert which hasn’t tasted
sprinkles of rain from above.

Then like pregnant drops of dew
on a chilled yet rose-pink dawn,
you kissed my cacti and sand
when you made me your own.

Just write a poem of precisely 44 words, including the word dawn.

She is Me

She has seen thousands dusks and dawns
kissing crawling winds combing lawns.

She has felt sweet spring and harsh winters
clothing her heart’s ever resilient chambers.

She has lived more than two decades,
with turning time she swayed and swayed.

With the love and life she’s ready to give and take,
she knows she will not cease to create and be created.

Four Bullets

One. Two. Three. Four.

His seven-decade-old hands hold tight on the rusting rails of his lightless room’s window. His darkened eyes stare at the now fallen tree and then to the triumphant men who successfully defeated the lush pine.

The lush pine planted and reared by his wife. His wife who died last month.

He slowly turns his tear-stained face away from the laughing men and the defeated tree as his old hand unlocked the drawer hiding his pistol. He reaches further for the bullets and slowly loads the gun.

With a dark smile, he whispers…

One. Two. Three. Four.

Breathing Whispers

I heard your soul’s sighs
and your heart’s cries
as your mind tries
to silence fear of ends and byes.

So I stamped the wind with
my love’s breathing whispers,
crossing 2,000 miles of seas and lands,
to bring my kiss of forever.

Crossing (Her) Bridge

Sweaty, cold hands grip the cold rails,
agonized eyes stare at her almost fading trails–
footprints of all she has done,
mud piles of all her missed fun,
holed-patches of all she has lost,
unturned stones of her dreams still at frost.

Waiting lungs heave one deep, deep breath,
shaky foot finally decided to take its first step–
towards a foggy future she has yet to know,
towards a misty tomorrow no crystal ball can show.

With a hoping heart cloaked with lit-up love,
with a warrior soul armored with fearless faith,
she runs and crosses her own unsteady bridge,
away from her yesterday’s oh, so useless weights.

Note: This is what happens when your 25th birthday is less than two weeks away. 😉 And it is fascinating that my last dVerse-inspired poem is also about bridges. ❤

Hello, 2017! Miss You, Friends!

And so in between a hard-core editing session with my boss, I am writing this post after I visited some of you,  who are close, close, close to my heart, and I almost, almost cried because I miss everyone!

I know I am nine days late but here’s to a lovely 2017 for everyone!!! 🙂

Thinking about 2016 makes me nostalgic and melancholic. I have lost someone I thought I would be keeping forever but I am happy, don’t get me wrong. 🙂 It’s just that last year has been a rollercoaster ride. So the holiday break was spent hibernating, like 12 to 15 hours sleeping. (Er. HAHA)

And when I came back at work this month I was swaaaaaaaaaaaamped with work. Sigh.

So… I hope to be back regularly my dearest ones! ❤ I miss you, you, you, all of you!

I have to make this month kinda a treat because this month is my birth month too!!! (Er. Getting older. HAHA)

See you, my darlings! ❤

Miss youuuu a lot! I hope to be back!

Sending hugs and love your way,

Monday Morning Melts Is Saying Goodbye

Jade: Hello fellow bloggers, struggling humans, and friends! First off, a happy new year to you all!

Rosema: Some of you may have started 2017 ready for our next Monday Morning Melts Prompt, and noticed that there were none.

Jade: Rosema & I came to the difficult conclusion over the holidays that we will not be continuing our Monday Morning Melts event. The reason for that is because we both are having trouble juggling our respective Real Life Responsibilities *shakes fists in vain*.

Rosema: It is with a heavy heart we accept that real life (ehem, work) comes first. In as much as we love sharing you songs which touched our hearts and read how they inspire you, we cannot keep on sharing but not be present enough to read you all. ❤

Jade: If there is anyone who would like to pick up Monday Morning Melts and host it themselves, please feel free to do so! We’ll do our best to participate as much as we can.

Rosema: Nonetheless, we enjoyed this sooooo much and we will never know! Maybe we can be back someday, sooner or later!
