Pile of pans and plates
all dried-dirt-kissed,
beside untouched
porous sponge.
Dripping faucet,
says tap, tap, tap.
Below rusted sink
mice munch, munch, munch.
Blood-bathed body,
lifeless eyes wide open.
Silently decays,
alone, badly broken.

Palette creates a vivid word painting within a brief and lyrical poem. It is simply a short poem, using vivid imagery. This genre was specified by Viola Berg. There is no prescribed structure or rhyme. The only mandate is the poem should create a brilliant image in the reader’s mind.
The Palette is:
- a word painting.
- framed at the discretion of the poet.
Oh wowza…

A death (or murder in the kitchen). The body count is rising Rosema. I am calling the Scenes of Crime team as we speak. An excellent piece that creates a very vivid image.

Lyrical and utterly vivid! I recent wrote this for one of my reviews, but I feel that it is appropriate here too. So I will be a bit redundant: Your words “fluidly slips through the mind’s grasp leaving hardly a trace of themselves in the images they evoke.”

A scene of death. Viscerally rendered. Impressive, sister! What is in the sink and what is on the floor are equally lifeless. Except for two persistent sounds. Even the mice, intent and practiced, would appear still. Goosebumps on the inside!

Interesting take. A body decaying among the mess of his life. One more for the kill counter my friend:) 💕🍁
