Miriam’s Breakfast

Former Senator Miriam Santiago
is a fierce brain and funny wit combo.
She said she eats death threats for breakfast,
and announced her cancer with humor and class.

Today we’re going to play with humor and couplets and the form I’m presenting is called a Clerihew. A Clerihew is a comic verse on biographical topics consisting of two couplets and a specific rhyming scheme of aabb that was invented by Edmund Clerihew Bentley (1875-1956) at the age of 16.

  1. Hidden in the murky world of politics there is the occasional diamond that shines through. This lady seems one of them Rosema. It is good to find out about people like Senator Miriam Santiago, so thank you for the post.

  2. Given the current clime, I’m sorry she’s not serving as your president. Given any clime, I’m sorry she’s not serving. I’m sorry she has cancer. I’m happy she makes her life suffuse with humor. I’m happy that you voted for her. Your vote certainly counts, sister!
