The Cabin’s Smell

3

Proudly dressed in scarlet, these trees will soon be naked once the chilling winter defeats the bloody fall. So before snow blankets the roads, I have to run and run with all my might to lose more weight.

I’ve been running for 30 minutes already when the sweet smell of creamy pumpkin soup wafted through my my nose down to my tongue.

Oh dear.

I followed the smell and figured it’s coming from a light-less cabin. I move towards it slowly as if I’m hypnotized. Too hypnotized to notice the huge black dog barking loudly at me as its fangs shine in anger.

Uh oh.

I backed away slowly before I launched into the fastest run I ever did. I guess this morning is indeed for running and not eating.

  1. Be brave Rosema, get the dog to chase you. You run faster, therefore making room for more pumpkin soup. A good warming story for the Autumn. Thank you for writing and sharing.

  2. A bit of a humorous piece Rosema. I’d say that’s Gods way of encouraging your runner to keep running and save the eating for after when she’ll still be burning calories from her run 🙂 Unique take and well written!
