Will you guys agree with me that time is in a rush? Geez. One year’s now down to four months! Too fast!
So before August ends, let us have some coffee, or maybe tea. But hey! It’s A Reading Writer’s 2nd birthday so we have wines and beers and cocktails around. Cheers!!!
Come, let’s start!
A Bit Calmer August
A Reading Writer has a bit calm August! Yeah, believe it or not. 😀
Looking back, I was able to:
- Resume writing for:
- Wednesday – Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writer
- Thursday – Three Line Tales
- Friday – Friday Fictioneers
- Publish the free verse poems I have written and stocked in a Google doc since February!
But I was not able to:
- Post 2016 Reading Challenge update and Book Reviews. (I have 18 pending reviews. Geez.)
So… here comes a…
Throwback September
Why throwback? It’s because…
- A Reading Writer just turned two and I want to look back on what I have posted last year! 😀
- I started blogging with book reviews, so I’ll try to do it again. 😉
This means this month… my posts will be:
- Throwback posts! 😀 (Yes!)
- Book reviews! (I’m keeping my fingers-crossed).
- And prompt-takes! 😀
Announcements
Aside from the editorial calendar, I would also want to let you know that A Reading Writer is now on Instagram too!!!
My IG gallery has a combination of old and new poems and it will be a great delight if we can connect there, too. (Just in case you are in IG, too!) 😉
Question!
Before we make a final toast I would like to ask you something! 😀 (I asked this to Mandi, already! <3)
I told you last time that I am done writing the 100 poems for my debut poetry book. 🙂 As I plan on how to move forward with it, with little agonized steps, I would like to know which type of book do you usually buy. Is it print or the kindle/ebook version?
Your thoughts will mean a lot to me, guys! 🙂 (Note: This is not a debate guys. 😀 More of a survey!)
Thank you!!!
Here’s to a splendid September! 🙂

Personally, I buy printed books. But I know that the general consensus now is towards e-books. From a business standpoint, I do think it makes more sense to publish in e-book first, especially if you’re self-publishing. The expenses are cheaper with e-book as well 🙂

To publish an ebook first is easier, after that you can proceed to print publishing.

Thank you dear Jacq! ❤ You've done it! May I ask you how was it? I mean the journey, the feedback? 🙂

Hmm! An interesting journey. What I’ve got mostly is the fulfillment from publishing my own book. There’s plenty of marketing involved.

Oh. Marketing? On your own? How did you do it? ❤

Release it first as an eBook if you’re self-publishing. Then print hard copies if people start asking for them. 😉

I personally like to read print books. However, I agree with everyone that an ebook is a better choice to start. 🙂

Happy Birthday Rosema and here’s to the next few years. Personally I prefer the printed book, it is much more personal. E-books appear to be best for starters 🙂

Tomorrow is Labor Day here. I think you need a holiday like that!
I’m glad your August was more prolific that you thought it’d be. Your plans for September are impressive. Happy second birthday, A Reading Writer!
And, while we’re at it, Happy September!
I think e-books have greater reach. I have to admit a favorite treat of mine (as I’ve said elsewhere, I think) is to find and buy a small hardbound book of poems at the bookstore. My library is big enough that I let go of paperbacks so I could have more room. But I wouldn’t be surprised to find that my approach is unusual. So I’d say go with what most recommend. And, more importantly, your own good sense.
I’m happy you’re on Instagram. A reason for me to get a tablet.
Yes, fingers crossed.
God bless you in September, sister–you and yours!

YAY! Thank you very much brother! Our Labor Day holiday is during May 1. This is year it was a Sunday. (Too bad. HAHA)
Happy September to you! I hope the Fall will be kinder to you, brother! CAn imagine how beautiful it is to see a green tree changed from a scarlet one! ❤
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! will take note of that!
And a tablet is a great idea! Am dreaming of a laptop, though! Too costly! HAHA
Blessings back to you, brother!
