I thought I lost me
when you left suddenly
years after ‘I’ died,
eye fin’lly see the lie.
You swallowed ‘me’
with your love,
abandoned thee
in one swift shove.
Now ‘I’ is back
bravely climbed up,
from the grave
you dug and gave,
me, I, now saved.

“I thought I lost me.” Such ponderous words, sister! Concise, supremely well-chosen, and impactful! The resolution is strong, too–“Now ‘I’ is back/bravely climbed up, . . .” Affirming and needful verse for everyone to hear!

Sister, simple words are the best, especially when arranged with skill! (Which is, you know, how you arrange them.)

There is nothing more courageous than that of a frail soul and broken heart emerging from the grave of misadventures. Beautifully done, dearie. ❤
