Funk Fixer

1

Today is our silver anniversary yet I know my wife thinks this day won’t bring anything special. Years after the economic crisis, my little art business is still trying to get up after a five-year continues fall. Simultaneously, our once in love hearts have been drifting apart. Love is essential, but money affects it in dire ways. In short, we are broke, financially and emotionally.

Gazing at the newly-painted building I bought with my personal savings, I whisper a prayer that this last effort will work. I hope Funky Munky will fix our pocket and of course our broken hearts.

  1. The last sentence in each paragraph is clear, insightful, and moving. Of course, each is built upon everything that is said before. I’m rooting for the Funky in the Munky! Splendid storytelling, sister!

  2. Great writing Rosema! For both their sakes, I hope the Funky Munky business works out. I hope the couple makes money and is able to spend time much needed to help nurture and focus on their relationships. Although, I kind of have the feeling of the wife saying “Not this again!”
