Cave woman. That taunting nickname was born when I was a teenager because of my bar-hate. The tag and my bar inexperience have remained until now that I’m almost at my four-decade mark.
I hate the smell of beers and alcohols, most of all, smoke. I can’t stand noise equally. Beyond these, I’ve heard and watched obscene, brutal, unfortunate events that happened inside an almost light-less, always crowded bar.
But today might be my cave-woman name’s ending.
I just resigned from my 23rd job when I saw the blinking WANTED sign. Maybe waitressing in a bar is my real calling.

The things people will use against you. Sigh. I don’t drink. I can’t go to bars, let alone smell alcohol. Be you, love.

That is so true, love. This is fiction but I am like her and like you too. I have never drunk any alcoholic drinks. Never been to a bar. Hated cigarettes. And I have no plans to change that. 🙂

I figured as much, but there’s always truth in the fiction. 💕

Good write. Not sure if its fact or fiction. Best of luck either way.

Fictional character though with a touch of me too. I’ve never been to a bar with the same reasons and have no plans to change that. 😀
Thank you, Andrew!

Yay! This is inspired by me too! My lack of bar experience and my lack of desire to change that. HAHA

Hey, if they inspired you to write, maybe bars aren’t so bad after all. Ha, ha. 🙂

WOWWWWWWWWW! I don’t think anything good happens in a bar–I’ve been in some, though it never became my lifestyle. Lots of lonely desperate people trying to either escape by themselves, or connect with someone who’ll make the pain go away for awhile; and then there are the “fake happy” people trying to impress, or make deals…it’s all very empty.

oh yeah! your observations are quite right! have seen that in quite a handful of movies. 😀

Dear Rosema,
Personally I hate bars. I can’t stand the smoke or the smells either. I find it interesting that she would want to turn things around by working there. Nicely done.

Dear Rochelle,
Maybe she want to try something surprising at her age. Though it is a bit nerve-wracking to do that.
Thank you! 🙂

I’ve never been to a bar and don’t intend to start. I can tell you what’s a good wine to pair with cheese or food, but I don’t drink alcoholic beverages. I don’t smoke either. It’s nice to be you and not who society thinks you should be. Good write.

I see her 24th job going. She’d have to change radically for keeping that job, and that would not be a good thing. The story is a good thing though. 🙂

Yes. I think she want to get out of her box (or shall I say cave) and try it. I wish her good luck! 🙂

Hmm, she doesn’t like beer, other alcohol, cigarette smoke, and noise. A career in bar-tending–of course! Why not?
This narrative is funny, sister, in (or as) irony!

Different bars are different. Hear in Canada, they’re not allowed to smoke in bars at least. Perhaps, waitressing in a bar this woman will get good tips? But you probably would get grabbed a lot, depending on the place. Maybe an okay job in university and a bit later, but probably something better out there.
Great take Rosema.
