Our old cherry tree is pregnant again with its plump, bloody, cheerful fruits,
which always remind me of your red lips as soft as the sound of the flute—
until that wintry day came and turned them so blue and oh, so cold.

Pregnant with fruit – great idea that. A lovely story in just three lines, moving from sweet love to cold indifference. Very good. A lovely take on the prompt 🙂

Goodness, reads like romantic tragedy. I mean, “wintry day” and cold blue lips make me think of dying. Maybe indifference, as noted above, is more correct. Either way, sister, this is a lyrical and powerful piece.

i will tell you a secret, brother. When I wrote this the last line means death. (blue lips and cold lips) SO i must say we have the same thinking about this poem. 🙂 Thank you very much!
