Eloquence: An Endecha*
your sweet eloquent soft tongue
turned my black heart into red,
until my mind realized
what my ears denied— white lies are your best friend.

*The Endecha is a ” The Canción triste que encierra un lamento”, (“sad song that locks up a moan”), a 16th century Spanish dirge or song of sorrow.
The Endecha is
- stanzaic, written in any number of quatrains.
- syllabic, written with 7-7-7-11 syllables per line.
- rhymed, rhyme scheme xaxa xbxb etc., x being unrhymed. The rhyme is often consonance only but true rhyme may be used.
wow, a double meaning here! Eloquence used to disguised lies, now that’s despicable!

yes! a double meaning it is! a lot of men are like that I think. they step their best foot forward when courting you then hurt you once they can call you theirs.

Oh no! I hope not. I have not dealt with this before but then I rarely ever date.

You should go dating sometime. 😉 (but i can imagine it will be hard with characters demanding you to just go be alone and write them)

Yeah but they come with me on dates and they have never liked anyone I dated. And my characters are always with me. So i can’t get rid of their disapproval!

Uh oh. It’s like having a set of dads with you always. Tsk. Tsk. They should take some leaves! Haha

Well i do have some female characters too… 🙂

I know. 😉 I used dads as fathers are more harder to be pleased with a daughter’s date than moms. 😀

Oooh, love how you used such beautiful words so the poem appears sweet on the surface, but when you actually read it, it’s a bitter taste. Well done, Rosema.

I just wish I hadn’t been too “in love” to see through it–would have saved 3 yrs of heartache. Oh well… If God sends me a new guy, the poor man will suffer through intense investigation!! 🙂 Hook him up to the lie detector 🙂

HAHAHAHA! That might be true. 🙂 I believe the “wrong turns” in our lives teaches us lessons that God wants us to learn, sissy. ❤
