Ephemeral

Ephemeral: An Eleventh Power*

Someone shattered your fragile heart with sweet lies,
someone freed the inner demons you keep inside,

someone left you without answering your whys,
someone laughed hard without seeing that you cried,

someone belied your efforts and many tries,
someone neglected your presence in one stride,

they dug hollow holes inside your once tough soul,
the suffocating pain’s like a burning coal.

As you transformed from whole to a broken piece,
remember those someones who denied your right to bliss,
pain’s ephemeral, you’ll be back, I promise.

    1. Thank you very much, Mel! Long poetic lines are not my comfort zones thus this one was a tough piece to make. I dumped more or less 5 whole poems after I got this one. 🙂
This is also close to my heart so I am glad it empowered you too! 🙂

      1. A reblog, I think. I just saw your poem and loved it; I look forward to exploring more of your site once I get a bit more free time and computer access=)

Yeah. I agree. That’s what I felt when I heard your voice for the first time too! I am smiling and crying all at the same time! 😀

      2. Will have to do more of these now–in the future, not “now” now… I’m such a mess! And I think I’ll go fix a sandwich, so…don’t know if I’ll be back on WP. If not–God bless you, dear heart, till tomorrow!

      3. Yes, he can do just enough to survive–with my help, haha! I think he also gave me some tips for chicken–but I’ve already forgotten them, yikes! Today I gave him the rest of the Banana Cream Pie so I wouldn’t eat any more 🙂

      4. His daughter and grandson live north of us, but he doesn’t see them too much–she works–but he’s taking his grandson on a little vacation next month, so that will be nice for them.

  1. An intriguing poetic form. I admire your message. Though the negative influences are withering, “pain’s ephemeral, you’ll be back, I promise.” Too many think happiness is ephemeral. But it’s pain that doesn’t last, not really. Terrific teaching, sister!

    1. Thank you, brother!! This is a tough form to write. As you may noticed, I write short poems. And this requires 11 syllables per line. I think I dumped 5 poems before I come up with this one. 🙂 I am glad to conveyed that message. Thank you, brother!

      1. The results are worth the work. I don’t do nearly as well with poem forms as you do well. I do have parts of poems around, having “dumped” them as you have yours. Your poetry, sister, is beautiful fruit from all your nourishing.
