Siping

I have never been excited
to see the moon defeat the sun,
to feel the bed against my warmth,
until the day we shared my surname.

      1. Hmmmm it’s the same here in India… but now a days … it’s changing…. modern world… I see them keep their own surnames even after marriage … !!!

    1. Thank you very much, Suz! 😀 Not silly, i understand. I don’t name my characters, thus readers mostly look at it in a “woman’s” eyes. 🙂 But this poem is actually “written” by a man. 😉 Females adopt their husbands name here in my country. 😉

You have a great week, my friend! ❤

      1. You’re welcome, Rosema. 🙂
That is an interesting twist of things writing it from the man’s point of view.
It works that way here, too. The females take the husband’s name.
I hope that you have a great week, too, my friend. 🙂

      2. I tend to agree. We also need to remember that the Bible tells us to submit to each other. It isn’t one sided. The man is the lead, but we each have our part. We’re a team, each couple, each working for the good of the other. The two become one and I think that is a wonderful set up. 🙂

  1. […] Eric and I snuggled on our blanket because it was a little chilly, it being the end of September in Upstate New York. Slowly but surely, we saw the eclipse happen and it started turning red. We tried to take pictures with out phones, but obviously it was so far of a distance that you couldn’t really tell what it was supposed to be. […]
