Edit-out

june 14

In editing,
you take some time away from your piece,
then come back with clear eyes for error.

I am not a written piece that you need to edit.
But you take sometime away to refresh your heart.

Like an initial draft, I waited for my editor’s
red-pen-equipped comeback.
I waited,
I waited,
I waited.

You’re back,
then edit me
out.

  1. Such a clever girl you are, editing and editing people out compared. He takes some time away (as one should when editing) but he decides he doesn’t need her in his story/poem of life and edits her out. So sad, she should make sure to have his words in her life shredded in the paper shredder. 🙂

  2. If the strikethrough works, then we’re left with “You’re back, then”–and who knows how things will go from there? I’m rooting for her! This line is fantastic for life: “I am not a written piece that you need to edit.”

    Such fine work, sister!
