I’m back home to cook lunch when I heard my girls’ delighted squeals. I missed hearing them. I never thought I’ll hear their warm giggles again after their dad left us, for no known reason. There’s no farewell nor goodbye. He just stopped coming home.
I quietly went up to sneak a peak and was stunned to see he’s back, my husband. He removed his weird-looking helmet, looked at me with chilling intensity.
“I know where you’ve been,” he said coldly.
I want to run back to my lover’s arms but my husband’s gaze showed escape wouldn’t stand a chance.

Menacing and enigmatic. Has he been under the sea in his weird helmet all this time? Does his cold stare have something of the fish, or the Merman about it? I loved this

Whoa!! The lady’s emotions might be on a seesaw…One side the lady is happy listening to her girls’ squeal, and the other side, a chill must have run through her spine listening to her husband speak …

I wonder why he thinks she slept with someone. When I read the last line, I thought she wanted to run back in her husbands arms as he was “her lover” but not anymore, he’s changed and isn’t her lover, in love with her. But maybe she did have a separate lover? Nice suspense Rosema.

A fanciful tale in response to a strange photograph. I wonder if the helmet is a metaphor for revelation, since he knows she has been diving herself in hitherto unknown waters.
Creative work to admire, Rosema!
