It’s calming.
It’s quiet.
It’s easy to concentrate.
It’s like dreaming while awake.
It’s a guiltless delight.
It’s like munching a calorie-less cake.
It’s sleep-inducing.
It’s detoxifying.
It’s poetically inspiring.
It’s just… the best thing.

In response to The Broke and the Bookish‘s Top Ten Tuesday today:

June 7: Ten Reasons I Love X — could be a certain book, character, author, your indie bookstore, a fandom, a tv show, reading, a hobby, a genre.

P.S. Why do you love reading? Do we have the same reasons? Let me know!:)

  1. I’d add a reason 11. to your list of ten. Because you read, we get to have your thoughts.

Why do I read? I tend to pick narratives that happen in places and times that are not mine. I find that interesting and expansive. I get to learn about the world in a wider way.

    Thanks, Rosema!

    1. oh, that reason is just so sweet, Christopher! 🙂

Thank you for answering my question. 🙂 I share the same view. Historical fictions have been my most-recent-found-book-love. I am now reading Between Shades of Gray and it’s soooo violent, so gruesome, so heartbreaking, but its beautifully written.

      Thank you, brother!

  2. Totally agree with the guiltless delight and calorie less cake part 😀 😀
Though for me, if I like a book I go absolutely crazy and the sleep gets pushed far far away. And the reason why I love reading books: well so many… As per me, regardless of whatever book you read, you get to learn many things like something new about a place, about a culture, about the human behavior along with some new words et cetera… and the list goes on 😀

    1. Haha! I agree to that, Srivi! There are books that I can’t stop reading so I end up reading until 3 or 4 am! 😀

And yes dear, books are great teachers of anything and everything. 😉
