Soul’s Due: Lanternes*

Words
you’ve not
written will
be buried with
you.

Tunes
you have
not sung will
fade without one
clue.

So
live life
with fervor,
‘fore death becomes
true.

Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #3)

*Lanterne

The Lanterne is:

  • a pentastich, a poem in 5 lines.
  • syllabic, 1-2-3-4-1 syllables per line.
  • is composed with no punctuation and no rhyme, each end-word should be strong.
  • centered on the page. Since this is a concrete or shape poem, the length of the word on the page factors into the equation, syllable count is not enough to determine the selection.
  • title optional.

  2. Oh yes! To all of it! What’s the point of having a talent and not utilizing it? What’s the point of life if we are not living it? I agree completely. And I love the cute lil trees. They look like Christmas trees 😀 🙂
