*Part of the free verse “Dear Series” collaboration with my poetry Queen, my dear soul-sister, my cheerleader and encourager, my lovely friend, Nandita of Manan Unleashed.
Will your failure define you? Or will you define your failure?
Dear Failure*
I’m the bane
of victorious soul,
I’m the rain
sun can’t control.
Your test of rainy days
are a blessing in disguise
for the one who strays
into the path of lies
You’re a mountaineer
in a beautiful peak,
I am wind’s sneers
turning you oh-so weak.
My faith is invincible
No matter the height
my strength indomitable
Burden heavy or light
Slowly you cascade
from top to bottom.
Will someone save
your life in autumn?
Succeeding in its fall
Beauty cascading free
An important stepping stone
Dear Failure, I honour thee.

Oh man, these poems are such a delight to read. I love how complex the poems are. You think it’s a letter to failure, but it’s so much more. And there’s always a dash of hope sprinkled through as well.

You both really do have a way with words. You weaved them so beautifully that leaves us wanting for more. And you conveyed the message very well. Failures are life’s stepping stones and we need not be afraid of them or be ashamed of them. 🙂 Beautiful and inspiring. ❤

Thank you very much for your sweet words, Maria! 🙂 Yes, that is very very very true. 🙂
Failures, wrong choices, they make us cry but our tears clear our eyes and make us tougher and extra better. 🙂 ❤

You girls have made failure look so positive. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing and it shouldn’t be. It’s like bumps or potholes in the road. You just have to find a way to deal with it and defeat it and come back stronger. But at the same time, it shouldn’t be ignored. I love how you girls give such topics a positive note rather than looking at it negatively. Failure is a part of life, just as much as success is. So why embrace or acknowledge only success, right? Beautiful take, girls. Kudos to the both of you! ❤ 🙂
