Praise Prayer: A Pantuom
©2016 Rosemawrites@A Reading Writer
You are always enough
though I don’t have that much
at least I can still laugh
even with an empty pouch.
I don’t have that much
I’ve got no money in banks
it’s just me and my empty pouch
but still I have peaceful nights.
I’ve got no money in banks
but my heart’s filled with love
that’s why I have peaceful nights
after a day spent with those I love.
My heart’s filled with love
that’s why I still can laugh
with each day spent with those I love
for me, You’re always enough.

In response to Blogging from A to Z Challenge: P is for Pantuom.
The pantoum consists of a series of quatrains rhyming ABAB in which the second and fourth lines of a quatrain recur as the first and third lines in the succeeding quatrain; each quatrain introduces a new second rhyme as BCBC, CDCD. The first line of the series recurs as the last line of the closing quatrain, and third line of the poem recurs as the second line of the closing quatrain, rhyming ZAZA.
The design is simple:
Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
Line 4
Line 5 (repeat of line 2)
Line 6
Line 7 (repeat of line 4)
Line 8
Continue with as many stanzas as you wish, but the ending stanzathen repeats the second and fourth lines of the previous stanza (as its first and third lines), and also repeats the third line of the first stanza, as its second line, and the first line of the first stanza as its fourth. So the first line of the poem is also the last.
Last stanza:
Line 2 of previous stanza
Line 3 of first stanza
Line 4 of previous stanza
Line 1 of first stanza

Extremely lovely. Great job on this form, it’s one of my favourites. Your poem seemed very meaningful and truthful. Being with your love gives you peaceful nights, more important then money –vastly.

great form, I had forgotten all about pantoums. I like the premise, that money doesn’t matter; because “you’re always enough”. I hope he knows that!

Super beautiful Rose … I loved the style and I am going to save the notes you are adding… I will try my inks on such form of poetry … And I will agree to certain context where money is not everything mainly love … But in other aspects in today’s world … Money is everything … The reality is hard … That’s what I have learnt … Everywhere there is a role of money going in the back… It’s a fact in my view …. !!

Thank you very much! I would love to read your own poems with this form. 🙂
Yes. That is true. Money can’t buy everything, yet it’s important. It really is.

I join you in your opening banner statement, reading to write etc. Me too! If you have time or interest in hotels and inns, that has been my theme this year. Normally, a lot about book/author/reviews and other things I feel passionate about. Come and join me if you can.

Having a loving family and friends and being just wholly blessed is so much more than anything in the world. Sometimes we tend to forget it, don’t we? Life is indeed a blessing 🙂 ❤
