Note: This is my first try on fantasy so please forgive me. 😀
I’m not picky with books but this one’s eerie. I hesitantly flip the metallic cover when it suddenly jumped and flew open on top of a humongous rock.
Uh oh.
I love words but not geometry. I am about to leave when the gear-like shapes noisily twisted and turned. The page glowed brightly! My squinting eyes can’t see but my alert ears heard a voice surely.
“Want to know your future?”
Too stunned to speak, I let my recovering eyes figure this man’s identity. I almost fainted as our identical faces stare at each other.
He is the future me.

When I read ‘geometry’, my first thought was, ‘I hate geometry too!’ 😀 But then this is you… weaving a story with a future you in there. Nicely done 🙂

Haha. At least we both hate geometry!! 😀
Yay! Thank you, dear NJ!

Great story! How strange it would be to face your identical self (unless of course you’re an identical twin) and be about to hear your future told!

Yes! It’s strange and creepy! Though interesting to know your future, right? 😀 Thank you!

Ohhh visit from the future! Great idea, don’t we all want to know if we accomplish everything in the future that we hope to?
Another quick critique if you don’t mind Rosema: it seems you jump from present to past tense. “I hesitantly flipped the metallic…” is past tense, but then in the next paragraph “I am about to leave…” is present. Something to keep an eye out for as you continue writing? Those tenses can be sneaky!
Also, for someone who hasn’t written fantasy before, this is a great start! You should dabble a bit more, I’d love to see what else you come up with ^_^

Hi dear Jade! Thank you for pointing that out. 🙂 Verbs are not my friends. Haha. Thanks again! 🙂
Yes, we do want/wish to know our future. 🙂
Lastly, thank you very much foe the vote of confidence! 🙂 Fantasy is not really my comfort zone so your words mean a lot. 🙂 ❤

Intriguing photo to have used.
I think this foray is successful. A voice is created that is itself tentative about fantastic things. So when they are encountered, the voice questions at first. Just as we would.
