Soar
high,
leave thy
weights and loads,
tear off doubting cloak,
follow the sun, let go, just float.

Fib

Fib or fibonacci poem is based on the Fibonacci sequence. The number of syllables in each line of the poem is the sum of the previous two lines: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8.

  1. I absolutely love flight and loved the imagery you evoked with your words. I’m also thankful for your explanation about the form. I knew you had to be following a pattern, but had not heard of poetry following a Fibonacci sequence. Great job!

      1. Other than take off and landing, riding an airplane is like riding a bus except you are guaranteed a seat 🙂 Instead of road noise, there’s engine noise and air whooshing by. Other than that, it’s not much different except that the ground is a looooong way down.

      2. Just the take off and landing bits are little tense. The rest of the ride is really boring. You’re stuck in a tiny seat for lots of hours with a numb butt and cramped legs and nothing to do except watch movies you won’t ordinarily have watched if you had a chance.

      1. Oh, and I just wrote a Fib (been seeing these everywhere recently, and then, when I saw yours, I thought, “Why not give it a whirl?” and so, I did!
Thought I should let you know! See what your Fib poem did?! Thanks! 🙂

  2. This is such a motivating poem. It is like one of those “positive, keep reminding yourself that life ain’t that bad”, kind of poems. Can I keep this quote as a life reminder? It’s perfect.
P.S. I love the pictures you upload too.
