Fly: A Fib

Soar
high,
leave thy
weights and loads,
tear off doubting cloak,
follow the sun, let go, just float.

In response to Blogging from A to Z Challenge: F is for Fib
Fib or fibonacci poem is based on the Fibonacci sequence. The number of syllables in each line of the poem is the sum of the previous two lines: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8.

Very inspiring!

I absolutely love flight and loved the imagery you evoked with your words. I’m also thankful for your explanation about the form. I knew you had to be following a pattern, but had not heard of poetry following a Fibonacci sequence. Great job!

Hi Gene! Thank you! Poetic forms are continuously being made and this one is a fun yet challenging one to write. 🙂 I love the idea of flying too!

I went ballooning once and it was so quiet. It’s a magical feeling and you captured it very well. We’re still on E for the Blogging from A to Z Challenge in the USA. So I’m going to go find your post for that letter too. : )

Oh thank you dear Mel!:D
I love the idea of flying but I am too fearful to try it for real. 😂

Other than take off and landing, riding an airplane is like riding a bus except you are guaranteed a seat 🙂 Instead of road noise, there’s engine noise and air whooshing by. Other than that, it’s not much different except that the ground is a looooong way down.

Ooooh… Thank you for giving me an idea. I haven’t ride an airplane all my life… It is my dream though I’m still scared. HAHA

Just the take off and landing bits are little tense. The rest of the ride is really boring. You’re stuck in a tiny seat for lots of hours with a numb butt and cramped legs and nothing to do except watch movies you won’t ordinarily have watched if you had a chance.

HAHAHA! Numb butt and cramped legs sounds bad but I am in for the challenge. 😀

then you’ll be fine flying 🙂 take off and landing are less scary than a rollercoaster.

Oh, and I just wrote a Fib (been seeing these everywhere recently, and then, when I saw yours, I thought, “Why not give it a whirl?” and so, I did!
Thought I should let you know! See what your Fib poem did?! Thanks! 🙂

Oh, and those end-words – loads, cloak, float – were ABSOLUTELY perfect. Very beautiful use of assonance and almost-rhyme!

This is such a motivating poem. It is like one of those “positive, keep reminding yourself that life ain’t that bad”, kind of poems. Can I keep this quote as a life reminder? It’s perfect.
P.S. I love the pictures you upload too.
