Dear Mitch Albom: A Ronsardian Ode*

A reader for delight that was once me,
until I stumble
upon your words that made me clearly see
letters tremble.
Tremble with meaning of life, death, beyond,
overflow with truth humans must respond,
touch hearts alive,
old souls revived;
your written words, I will always be fond.

  1. Such a pleasurably rhythmic and rhyming ode to a writer whose work I know means a great deal to you. Are you going to send this to him? I sometimes send verse to famous people. Ironically, the only one who’s written back so far is President Obama. (The one who has the least time for that.)

    Anyway, I’m sure he has a website and invites contact. Either way, this is an admiring way itself to express your fondness.

    1. Thank you for your insightful comment, Christopher! 🙂
      WOW! A reply from President Obama! That’s awesome! 😀

      I posted this on his Facebook wall and send him an email too. If he replies that would make me beyond happy!!! 😀

  2. Aww.. so sweet, Rosema. I got confused who I should write a letter to. (There’s just too many of them!) So I decided on my the latest addiction to my favorite authors instead. ❤

  3. This is the first I have heard of this form of poetry. I’m enjoying all the takes that you’re putting up. I wish I could try them out too but unfortunately (or fortunately) quite a few of my poems for NaPo are scheduled since I’m travelling. Someday, hopefully, I’ll try out the other forms too. But in the meantime, I get to read them in your words. They all sound so much fun! 🙂 Super super excited 😀
