Poetry from A-Z

“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” ― Leonardo da Vinci

How fast time flies. It was first week of March when I officially announced that I will be joining, for the first time, the A to Z Challenge! And now… April is less than 10 days away!!! ❤

Today, with great excitement I am announcing the theme of my take on this challenge which is…

Poetry from A to Z.

The challenge of both researching and writing different poetic forms which start from letter A to letter Z is an aspect I am well-aware of.

Initially, I cannot find any poetic form that starts with I, J, W, X, Y, and Z. But with the help of my friend whom I consider the KING of poetry, yes that is you Thomas!, I was able to complete the forms from A-Z! 😀

So here is what you can expect from me on April!

A Aubade
B Bop
C Cinquain
D Diamante
E Etheree
F Fib
G Ghazal
H Haiku
I Imayo
J Jánakú
K Kyrielle
L Lanturne
M Monorhyme
N Naani
O Ode
P Pantuom
Q Quinzaine
R Rondelet
S Shape Poetry
T Tanka
U Ushnik
V Villanelle
W Wayra
X Xiaoshi
Y Ya-Du
Z Zejel

I guess more than 90% of these poetic forms are new to me. And I am so glad I took this challenge.

And… maybe I am too excited, because I am actually done writing them before February ended. 😀 😀 😀

Will you be joining the A-Z challenge?

Have you posted your Theme Reveal today, too? 🙂

Let me know!

      1. Sorry Hon. April is National Poetry Writing Month, so I participate in that. They give you a prompt every day. If you’re interested in somehow combining the two (I’m not sure how) you can go to this website and submit your blog: http://www.napowrimo.net as well as to receive your prompts each day in April.

Best of luck! I will definitely be reading your poems everyday! 💕❤️💖💞

      1. 😀 No, it’s not… I wanted to have the flexibility of not writing a poem, actually 😀 I’ll probably write something about it closer to April 🙂
