Fire
Purifies loved gold,
strongest metals bend, mold
licks life new or old.
Sparks fly catch on wood;
sparks in your eyes burn your heart–
fires rage in both.

This is my first-ever writing collaboration and the word ‘great’ will be an understatement. I enjoyed writing with you, Mel but more than that, I am so honored to have written a senryu series with the poetess that I look up to. 🙂
Thank you for letting me get ‘high’ on senryu with you.
❤
This was lovely. Rose 🙂

Congratulations, Melinda and Rose! The first three-line part reads so much like an Anglo-Saxon riddle from centuries ago. The second part, then, could be the riddle’s answer also in verse. That one-ups the Anglo-Saxons who did not write answers as poems. Your work rules!
