Finally! Finally! I have written a Senryu! 😀 😀 😀

Pardon my delight…

I’ve been reading a lot of beautiful Senryus from the poet and poetess that I admire, those are Mel, Dajena, Annie and Thomas. I am fascinated with their way with words and I have no confidence to try it because I always thought… I cannot. 😦

But… now I tried! And I did it! 😀

Pardon my first Senryu if it ain’t perfect. 🙂 I am just happy that I did it, finally!

P.S.

Does anyone know where the Valentine bug is? I need a bite so I can write something Valentine-ish! 😀

      1. Aww, you are welcome, my friend. I didn’t like it, I LOVED it! The more you write these the more addictive they become. I can’t wait to read more of your senryu. I am also humbled that you look-up to my poetry. Thank you. Hope you are having a great day 😀 xo

      2. You are making my heart melt now! *smiling sigh*
It actually felt great when I finished this piece. I never thought I could write one, and I did. I am just so happy… and I guess you are right. It will be addicting. 😀
Funnily, too, I thought writing with a specific form will be stressful…but I actually enjoyed it. 🙂

      3. 🙂 🙂 Accomplishments are relative and they always feel good, no matter how great or small. Yes, they are addictive. Some forms are very strict and involve so many rules that it becomes difficult to capture a sentiment. However, shorter forms come with less restrictions and allow the writer to capture little moments so beautifully. 🙂

  2. This is such a beautiful Senryu 😀

Thank you for mentioning me alongside those big names, I am truly honoured, although I am not sure I deserve it.

Don’t worry, lovely lady, there’s so much love in the air, you’ll get bitten, for sure. For starters, here’s some love from Annie. ❤ ❤ ❤

    1. Oh, Annie. First of all, thank you for the vote of confidence. It means a lot to me, coming from you. ❤

And don't be too hard on yourself. You are a great poetess yourself so you surely deserve the mention! I so love your poems and the new poetic forms that you feature!

Lastly, thank you for sharing some love, lovely lady! I think the bug will bit me anytime soon. ❤ ❤ ❤

  3. If the image is a ladybug, then like the wisp it’s holding, when both are released, good fortune will abound. Folklore aside (or maybe not), you must already have been bitten, since your verse is pure romance. Thanks!

Haha! Nailed it or shot it are both delighting to read, Dajena! 🙂 Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤

And the mention is well-deserved . I am a fan, a big fan, of your *kilig*-inducing poems!

      1. Thanks, Rosemarie (not sure how to address you??) I can’t even find the word in my Webster’s Unabridged!! I’m not sure where the accent goes. Do you think it’s pronounced like “sen ree’ oo”?
