City Lights

As the sun

surrenders

to the moon,

my spirit

embraces

its gloom.

As the day

succumbs

to darkness,

my smile

turns

into blankness.

As bright

city lights

flickers,

my tired

weary heart

quivers.

As humans

fell

asleep,

my spirit

starts to

weep.

As the

the stars’re

shining,

my soul’s

slowly

fading.

  1. Aww. 😦 Beautifully sad poem, Rosema. I love your clever play with words and rhymes. And that’s a beautifully sad song from Sara, too.

Anyway, I’m sending you smiles on a lovely Sunday dear. 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. Thank you, lovely Maria! This is the poem that was supposed to be published last Friday but I don’t want to make you sad anymore that is why I moved it to Sunday. 🙂 I made this after a tiring draining day, actually. 🙂

You like listening to Sara, too? ❤

I am sending you love as Monday starts! ❤❤❤

      1. Oh, this is really beautiful. It reminds me of times that I felt exactly this way.
I hope we’ll both have a great wee, Rosema. 🙂 And yes, I like listening to Sara too. My favorite is her I Choose You. ❤ ❤ ❤ I want it to play on my wedding. Kiliiiiiiiiiiggggg

      2. Oh really? Me too. This poem is not fictional, because sometimes I get a little bit melancholic as the sun sets.
But I hope this week will be great! Especially now that Monday is a holiday! 😂

Yay! I choose you is I think her sweetest song. ❤

      3. Hmm.. we always get to experience days like that. It’s part of life I think. Oh, I’m jealous. I get to work on a holiday. 😦 But excited coz my 10 day vacation is fast approaching! 😀
