Let me take you to a joyride. Let’s discover the beauty of Ilocos Norte!

Last week, I posted the beginning of the more-than-one-year-in-planning adventure of a lifetime!

Now, let me share to you the part 1 of the highlights of our Ilocandia 2015’s 1st Day!

The Rainbow:

As we head towards our first destination, a beautiful FULL rainbow welcomed us! It was so lovely that we asked our driver, Kuya Bogs to stop so we can take photos!

For the first time in my life, I saw a rainbow’s beginning and end, and it is actually above the sea! Isn’t that so lovely? ❤

The Lighthouse:

FYI: Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, also known as Burgos Lighthouse, is a cultural heritagestructure in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, that was established during the Spanish Colonial period in the Philippines. It was first lit on March 30, 1892, and is set high on Vigia de Nagpartian Hill overlooking the scenic Cape Bojeador where early galleons used to sail by.

On our way up the lighthouse, I can’t help but be amazed by the view of trees’ greens and sea’s blues. It’s just majestic.

The hike was actually tiring, but we learned that our best antidote to tiredness is… picture taking! 😀

The Windmills

FYI: Bangui Wind Farm is a wind farm in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The wind farm uses 20 units of 70-metre (230 ft) high Vestas V82 1.65 MW wind turbines, arranged on a single row stretching along a nine-kilometer shoreline off Bangui Bay, facing the West Philippine Sea.

We have no awesome photo of this amazing man-made creatures as it was already raining when we arrived. (Sad.)

Nonetheless, seeing these gigantic windmills made me feel like a child again! I don’t know if I will be afraid or I will be amazed because they are so big!

  3. Gorgeous pictures. Thanks for sharing. I love seeing other places. I “make” my dad a calendar every year (since my mom died). Usually it’s filled with photos of the family. This year he asked for our heritage as a theme since I’ve been working on the family genealogy. I used Google maps to find pictures of places in Denmark, Germany, Scotland, etc. I’ve added to my bucket list of places I hope to visit one day. Looking forward to more pictures from your adventures.

  4. They are beautiful! You remind me of my field trip to see the windmills in my neighboring county and they look alike. lol Plus, I had an amazing time then as well! ^^
