Book Reads: Weekend List

For some inevitable reasons, Veronica Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho has been in my ‘Currently Reading’ list for quite some time now.

My personal reasons are first, I had a lot of commitments, including a history conference, last weekend and I had so little time to read. Also, i do tend to read Coelho’s novels in a not-so-fast manner. because most of the time, I find some facts or scenes hard to digest or sometimes I find the beginning of the book quite boring. Also, I have been taking notes of the wise words and moving quotations, Coelho books has tons of that, and it distracts me in a way,

But the main reason is, I have mentioned it for quite a lot of times in my blogs, the death of my college professor. It has really affected me in a way that I never imagined. I’ve been thinking of him for quite a lot of times and instead of reading, I do more of a reminiscing and thinking about the what-if’s.

I know he will be irritated on how I was behaving for the last few days. He is not really fond of licking wounds and crying over spilled milk. So to make him proud, I have no choice but to move on. After I say goodbye to him tomorrow, my life will continue even without him as my torMentor.

So here’s my list of book reads this week end.

1. Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho – I have to finish you so I can now move on. Come on!

2. For One More Day by Mitch Albom – Aside from the fact that this is the only Albom novel that I haven’t read yet, I have also read some quotes from the book that made me curious of its whole story.

3. The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks – I have watched the movie based on this book and though it brought me to tears I don’t quite like the story. But to be able to say that I have finished all Sparks novel.. I included this on my list.

So that’s my list and I hope I can finish them reading them on time. Happy weekend everyone! ~
